Meet Kathryn Fernandes

I am committed to providing a caring, warm, and non-judgmental environment for my clients to express themselves freely and to experience their emotions. I founded Illumination Psychotherapy Services, LLC. in 2017 to assist adults and families in the Bristol and Plymouth counties. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I often utilize mindful-based cognitive behavioral therapy (MB-CBT), and an integrative holistic approach to counseling. I have a compassionate and relaxed style which promotes an open and honest working relationship.

My prior experience includes forensic mental health, emergency mental health, inpatient psychiatric hospital care, and years of outpatient therapy experience. My range of professional experiences has given me the unique opportunity to serve a variety of populations, ranging from adults with “run of the mill” relationship issues to adults hospitalized with acute mental illness.

I have been in the mental health field since 2011, specializing in individuals therapy with adults. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Bridgewater State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. I am a current member of both the American Counseling Association and American Psychological Association.
